Marvel movies with Marvel Cinematic Universe If you are a newcomer to ‘The first thing you need to know is the order in which the movies should be watched. On this page, we will explain how to watch Marvel movies according to both chronological and vision dates. We’ve made the timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe easy to follow. We will also touch on how TV series such as WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier contribute to the continuity of the films, as well as the films.
With the pandemic, 2021 was a very active year for Marvel. The first of the Marvel series broadcast on Disney Plus was WandaVision. Then came The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Immediately after, Marvel fans met with the Loki series. Ms Marvel and Hawkeye are also expected to be released later this year.
On the movie side, Black Widow was released a short time ago. Probably, productions called Shang-Chi and The Eternals will follow right after. After these, the third Spider-man movie is expected to be released. Therefore, Marvel movies and the universe are gradually expanding.
This content may contain spoilers . But definitely not the kind to spoil the surprise. We will only give details on the general plot of the movie. You can reference this list as a complete MCU Timeline.

In what order should Marvel movies be watched?

Marvel filmleri
While watching Marvel movies, you need to set a timeline in order to clearly understand the giant plot and keep the viewing pleasure at the highest level. There are two ways to watch Marvel movies. The first of these is the chronological order starting with Captain America: The First Avenger (by the way, we also recommend this order), and the other is the order of release of the movies starting with Iron Man, that is, the order according to their vision dates.
If you want to include TV series such as WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki on the watch list, you need to watch these productions one after the other, right after Endgame and before Spider-Man: Far From Home. We will continue to update the list as new series and movies are released.

Marvel Movies Watch Order (Based on Story Totality):

First of all, let me state: We do not recommend watching Marvel movies in the order of their release dates. Because to better understand the overall story, this order of release dates is not chronological. It does not flow on a correct timeline.
For this reason, we have prepared a list based on the events in each movie in a way that will preserve the integrity of the story and not break the timeline. The beginning of the MCU is usually the Iron Man movie, which was released in 2008. But this isn’t the first movie you should watch. The first production you should watch in chronological order is Captain America: The First Avenger.
So let’s get started with our Marvel movies watch order list!

1) Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) | IMDb: 6.9

Captain America The First Avenger
Kaptan Amerika İlk Yenilmez
Location of the movie on the timeline: Movie 2. It takes place during World War II.
This movie is the fifth Marvel Studios movie. But it’s the first movie on this list! Because the whole story is 2. It begins during World War II. We witness the creation of the super soldier Captain America played by Chris Evans. We also meet Hydra and Red Skull, the leader of Hydra. Plus, we’ll get to know the Tesseract, which is of great importance throughout the story in Captain America: The First Avenger. This is one of the infinity stones at the end of the story! And of course, we will get to know what kind of period Captain America existed and his character structure.

2) Captain Marvel (2019) | IMDb: 6.9

Captain Marvel
Location of the movie on the timeline: The movie takes place in 1995.
Captain Marvel, the second movie on our list, was released last year. In the movie, we witness the introduction of Carol Danvers, played by Brie Larson, to the world. Fighting the shape-shifting aliens called Skrull, Carol enters the universe. Also, this is the movie where Carol meets Nick Fury. Nick Fury is critical in connecting Captain Marvel to the universe and the overall story. The film, which brings the 90s to life in a unique way, is also very rich in terms of nostalgia.

3) Iron Man (2008) | IMDb: 7.9

Demir Adam
Demir Adam
Location of the movie on the timeline: The movie takes place in 2010.
The protagonist, entrepreneur, philanthropist and playboy Tony Stark, the main character of the movie known as the turning point of the MCU, is played by Robert Downey Jr. An organization wants to own a weapon system designed by the leader Stark with the latest technologies. Stark, who refuses this and was kidnapped by the terrorist organization, meets his alter ego: Iron Man! The first movie of Iron Man, one of the most important characters of The Avengers and forming the backbone of the MCU universe, is 3. It goes on our regular watch list.

4) Iron Man 2 (2010) | IMDb: 7.0

Iron Man 2
Demir Adam 2
Place of the movie on the timeline: Picks up where the Iron Man movie left off.(2011)
Unable to hide his Iron Man identity, Tony Stark is trying to cope with the effects of this. The US government wants to see this unique technology on its side. At the point where Stark refuses this, one of the biggest weapons manufacturer rivals is doing his best to obtain Iron Man technology. The most important part of this movie in terms of story integrity is that it introduces us to Black Widow and War Machine. It’s also very valuable to be able to grasp the depth of Tony Stark’s character. Because there are too many events that develop in the focus of Tony Stark in the continuation of the story.
Note: Technically, you can watch The Incredible Hulk movie before The Iron Man 2. Because Marvel officials said that The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2 and Thor movies took place in the temporal period. But for full consistency, we recommend watching Iron Man 2 first.

5) The Incredible Hulk (2008) | IMDb: 6.7

The Incredible Hulk
Place of the movie on the timeline: It takes place at the same time as the movie Iron Man 2 (2011).
In The Incredible Hulk, Bruce Banner flees from the US Army. Realizing that he won’t be able to take on the Hulk, Ross decides to create a soldier version of the Hulk. In this movie, the Hulk is played by Edward Norton, after 2012 Mark Ruffalo became the new and eternal player of the Hulk.

6) Thor (2011) | IMDb: 7.0

Thor
The place of the movie on the timeline: It takes place in the timeline at the same time as Iron Man 2 and The Incredible Hulk movies (2011).
The Thunderer Thor is driven from his homeland of Asgard by his father Odin, thanks to the tricks of his brother Loki, with whom he is in constant rivalry. Our hero, who has fallen into the world, has to prove himself in order to regain his powers and control his hammer. He must act quickly because his brother Loki is about to take over Asgard. He meets a group of scientists who will help him on this adventure. The importance of the film in terms of story integrity is huge. Because we are witnessing the true story of Thor, one of the characters of Iron Man, Captain America and Thor, known as the three musketeers of the Avengers. We are also starting to recognize extraterrestrial planets. This is very valuable in terms of understanding the process that follows the story. And of course, we meet characters such as Odin, especially Loki.

7) Avengers (2012) | IMDb: 8.0

The Avengers
Yenilmezler
Location of the movie on the timeline: The movie takes place in 2012.
The Avengers is the movie that peaked the first batch of the MCU, supposedly known as “Phase 1”. All the main characters and protagonists have been officially introduced and it’s time to come together. The only thing that will bring so many heroes together is if something terrible happens that requires them to come together. The alliance of Loki, the Tesseract, and the extraterrestrials invading New York finds the Avengers team against them. In our opinion, it is one of the building blocks of the story. It offers the audience great predictions about the general atmosphere and future of the universe. It is one of the productions that should definitely not be skipped on the timeline.

8) Iron Man 3 (2013) | IMDb: 7.2

Iron Man 3
Demir Adam 3
The movie’s place on the timeline: It takes place 6 months after the Avengers movie (2012).
The third and final standalone Iron Man 3 movie follows the Avengers’ big fight in New York right after. Tony Stark struggles with the facts, memories and what he left behind of this war that has worn him psychologically . These thoughts get him to start building a set of Iron Man suits so he can be prepared for any danger. It is a film that has no direct impact and contribution to the overall story.

9) Thor: The Dark World (2013) | IMDb: 6.9

Thor: The Dark World
Thor: Karanlık Dünya
Location of the movie on the timeline: The movie takes place in 2013.
In the second movie of the Thor series, we see that our hero returns to Asgard after the invasion that took place when Loki became a plague on the world. But the Dark Elves are about to become a new problem and Thor doesn’t have much time to rest. The Asgardians fought and defeated the Dark Elves many years ago. They think they are extinct, but the Dark Elves return. They are looking for the Aether, one of the infinity stones at the end of the story.

10) Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) | IMDb: 7.7

Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Kaptan Amerika: Kış Askeri
Location of the movie on the timeline: The movie takes place in 2014.
Captain America has been working for the Shield, a secret government agency, since the movie The Avengers get together. But as she learns of Shield’s plans, she begins to question the agency’s goals. In the first movie, Captain America sees his friend Bucky, whom he thought he would never see again, as the Winter Soldier in this movie. So we get to know Bucky. Plus, this movie introduces Falcon, played by Anthony Mackie. Another one of the movies that has an important place in the story!

11) Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) | IMDb: 8.0

Guardians of the Galaxy
Galaksinin Koruyucuları
Location of the movie on the timeline: The movie takes place in 2014.
Guardians of the Galaxy, one of the highest-rated IMDb movies in the Marvel universe, tells the adventure of rogue Peter Quill and his friends, who stumble upon an infinity stone hidden in the ruins of space. The movie begins with a group of outcast characters coming together, including Rocket, a talking raccoon, Groot, a talking tree, Gamora, and Drax. Racing against time, our team must prevent Ronan from using the infinity stone.
Now we are moving away from the world of Iron Man, Captain America, which we have been very busy with for a few movies. Guardians of the Galaxy is an important movie to get to know this new team that will be perfectly integrated into the end of the story.

12) Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (2017) | IMDb: 7.6

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2nd
Galaksinin Koruyucuları 2
Location of the movie on the timeline: It takes place a few months after the first movie in the Guardians of the Galaxy series (2014).
Star-Lord falls in love with Gamora. Star-Lord is forced to confront the mysteries of his past when he comes face to face with a godlike being known as the Ego. As we approach the end of the story in the film, where Star-Lord and the events surrounding his past are told, it is a production that we will see this team in their own films for the last time. In general, it’s a little difficult to place Galaxy Guardian movies on the MCU Timeline. Because everything happens in space.

13) Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) | IMDb: 7.3

The Avengers: Age of Ultron
Yenilmezler: Ultron Çağı
Location of the movie on the timeline: The movie takes place in 2015.
The Avengers team reunites to confront the evil intentions of the artificial intelligence known as Ultron, through the fault of Tony Stark and Bruce Banner. It only takes one robot version to survive for Ultron not to be defeated. This makes things even harder. This movie also has a very important place in the unity of the story. We meet very important characters. The first is The Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen, the second is Quicksilver, played by Aaron Johnson, and the third is Vision, played by Paul Bettany.

14) Ant-Man (2015) | IMDb: 7.3

Ant-Man
Location of the movie on the timeline: The movie takes place in 2015.
Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), one of the inventors of the technology to shrink entities down to quantum size, fears an old friend will sell the technology to bad guys. Hank also has a daughter, Hope (Evangeline Lilly). Worried about his daughter’s involvement, Hank recruits an ordinary thug named Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) to put on an Ant-Man costume and fight his old friend. Hank is unaware that this Bandit will turn into a good superhero. Knowing the technology and Ant-Man’s abilities in some parts of the movie, if not the whole, is very critical for the end of the story.

15) Captain America: War of Heroes (2016) | IMDb: 7.8

Captain America: Civil War
Kaptan Amerika: Kahramanların Savaşı
Location of the movie on the timeline: The movie takes place shortly after Age of Ultron.
Hundreds, maybe even thousands, of innocent civilians died unintentionally in the last two Avengers films. That’s why Iron Man is trying to get the whole team to accept the request for the Avengers project to be supervised by the United Nations from now on. Captain America, on the other hand, thinks that the government cannot be trusted, considering what happened in the previous films, and approaches this demand negatively. Everyone is on one side, except for Thor and the Hulk, who were not on earth at the time. The protagonists enter into a glorious struggle with each other. One of the most valuable points of this movie is getting to know new characters. The first is Spider-Man, played by Tom Holland, and the other is Black Panther, played by Chadwick Boseman, who passed away last year. It is one of the films that can be called the touchstone of the story. It is one of the must-watch Marvel movies.

16) Black Widow (2021) | IMDb: 6.9

Black Widow

Location of the movie on the timeline: The movie takes place shortly after Civil War.
With this film, we focus on the origin story of Black Widow, whom we know very little about in the Avengers films and know as Natasha Romanoff. Black Widow is faced with a great threat one day. He has to act together with his family, which comes from his past and is not accountable. As time passes, some secrets about Romanoff’s past begin to emerge. Going over her past, Natasha now has to face the bad and dark side of her life. Pursued step by step by a global power like no other, Black Widow must overcome the threat of his dark relationships and years as a spy before becoming an Avenger.

17) Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) | IMDb: 7.8

Spider-Man: Homecoming
Örümcek-Adam: Eve Dönüş
Location of the movie on the timeline: The movie takes place shortly after Civil War.
After what happened in Civil War, Spider-Man Peter Parker wants to join the Avengers and be a part of the team. Hoping to become a member of this legendary team, he wages war against a villain named Vulture (Michael Keaton), who sells high-tech weapons from alien wreckage to bad guys. Iron Man gets very angry with Peter, with whom he engages in this war alone and recklessly. But she later includes him in the Avengers.
The film is a production that we can consider important in terms of the integrity of the story. But we cannot say that it is indispensable.

18) Doctor Strange (2016) | IMDb: 7.5

Doctor Strange
Location of the movie on the timeline: The movie takes place in 2016.
The famous surgeon Steven Strange ( Benedict Cumberbatch ), who is extremely successful at his job, is in a car accident and his hands are damaged in this accident. There is a tremor problem that a surgeon should not have, and the medical world cannot find a cure for it. He goes to the city of Kamar-Taj to find a solution from the mystical world. At this point, the life of the famous surgeon begins to evolve towards a completely different point. Doctor Strange will suddenly find himself as the man who has to save the world. This movie is very, very important for the finale of the story. It is an indispensable movie for watching Marvel movies and should not be skipped.

Black Panther

Relatively defeated in the first encounter, T’Challa, with the help of his family and a few friends, gets back on his feet and prepares to fight for the throne. This movie is one of the productions that we think is important in terms of the integrity of the story.

20) Thor: Ragnarok (2017) | IMDb: 7.9

Thor: Ragnarok
Location of the movie on the timeline: The movie takes place after Age of Ultron. Again, the exact date is unknown as it took place in space.
He tells their father, Odin, Thor and Loki, that their not-so-well-meaning sister, Hela, has gone to Asgard in order to bring about the apocalypse. In the first encounter, Hela destroys Thor’s hammer. Valkyrie, a former Asgardian, captures Thor, who was lost in space and crashed on a planet he doesn’t know where, and sells it to a slave trader, thinking he’ll make a good gladiator. The universe is so small that Thor’s first rival to the arena is his former co-worker, the Hulk. After some events here, Valkyrie, Hulk, Loki and Thor decide to form a team to evacuate and destroy Asgard before Hela unleashes the apocalypse. Although it does not directly contribute to the story, it is one of the funniest and funniest productions among Marvel movies.

21) Avengers: Infinity War (2018) | IMDb: 8.4

Avengers: Infinity War
Avengers: Sonsuzluk Savaşı
Location of the movie on the timeline: The movie takes place in 2017.
Thanos, one of the strongest villains in the Marvel universe, wants to end the life of half of all people in the universe due to the large population. The only way he can do this is with the 6 Infinity Stones, which, when used together, offer the opportunity to control all life in the universe. Thanos wants to obtain these stones in order to achieve his goal. Our team has to protect all the pieces, but Thanos gets stronger with every piece he gets, so the Avengers’ job is getting harder and harder every minute. You can think of Infinity War as the first part of two big movies that we can call the end of the story.

22) Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) | IMDb: 7.0

Ant-Man and the Wasp
Ant-Man ve Wasp
The movie’s place on the timeline: Its date is uncertain, but it certainly takes place between Infinity War and Endgame.

At this time, the inventor of shrinkage technology, Dr. Hank Pym and his daughter Hope Pym urgently knock on Scott’s door. Janet, Hank’s wife and Hope’s mother, is trapped in a quantum realm, a spooky subatomic place years ago. Now, Scott must become Ant-Man again and team up with Wasp to unravel the secrets of his past and fulfill the mission. It is a movie that you must watch in order to establish some connections between Infinity War and Endgame.

23) Avengers: Endgame (2019) | IMDb: 8.4

Avengers: Endgame
Location of the movie on the timeline: The events in the movie begin in 2017 and end in 2022.

With hope gone, as the Avengers continue their own little lives, Ant-Man aka Scott Lang arrives. The hope of rescuing 50 percent of the lives lost with some kind of technology is reborn. The team is meeting again to consider this possibility. Their mission is to go back in time to retrieve the Infinity Stones, bring them back to the present, and then use them to bring back those who lost their lives. With this movie, we can say that an era is closing in the world of Marvel movies, namely the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In general, this is the movie where the big story ends.

24) Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) | IMDb: 7.5

Spider-Man: Far from Home
Örümcek-Adam: Evden Uzakta
Location of the movie on the timeline: 8 months after Endgame
After Endgame, the Marvel Cinematic Universe entered a new era. This movie is also the first movie of the new era. Peter Parker is in an effort to stand up again after the events in Endgame. Thinking that the school trip to Europe would be good for him, Parker encounters Nick Fury during the trip. Fury puts Parker in charge of a danger that could threaten the world. Spider-Man is about to face off with his new nemesis.
Important note : WandaVision tells the events of the series Endgame only a few weeks after the events. Falcon and the Winter Soldier is about 6 months after Endgame. Although the timeline of the Loki series is a little unclear, we recommend you to watch it after Endgame. Therefore, if you are going to add these series to your watching order, all three productions are the 24th anniversary of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You need to watch it before the Spider-Man: Far From Home movie.
