\u201cYou are standing on the surface of the Earth. You walk one mile south, one mile west, and one mile north. You’ve finally come to exactly where you started. Where are you?”<\/p><\/div>\n

If the question sounds tricky to you, let me tell you, it’s not a trick question. Biographer Ashlee Vance, tech veteran and billionaire Elon Musk reportedly asks this question to every employee candidate.<\/p>\n

Here’s a tip: The most difficult riddles almost always have more than one solution.<\/p>\n
The first correct answer is the North Pole. Thanks to the curvature of the earth, the directions given above form a triangle, taking you back to where you started.  <\/div>\n
As for the second answer: Curiosity, \u201cAnywhere within a mile of a circumference of a mile around the South Pole.\u201d says . As they explain, walking a mile south will put you on this ring road. When you walk west, you will be walking in a full circle. Walking north will take you back to where you started. \u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
