1) Beyaz\u0131t State Library (Beyaz\u0131t)<\/h2>\n

Beyaz\u0131t State Library has the distinction of being the first library established by the state in Turkey. The first foundations were laid in 1884 as two historical buildings facing Beyaz\u0131t, across Beyaz\u0131t and Sahaflar Street. It is rooted in history as well as with its works. It contains nearly a million documents, half of which are books. At the same time, it promises a quiet and peaceful working environment with its spacious and large study rooms. Due to its location, you can find mostly university students studying in the library, which is close to Istanbul University Beyaz\u0131t Campus.<\/p>\n

The foundations of this library, which was established in the first days of our republican history, were laid by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. This library is open to all individuals as well as individuals who conduct research on specific topics. In terms of resources, you can find a wide range of resources in periodicals with sufficient features. In this library, which has nearly 50 thousand resources, you can find albums, atlas, manuscripts, newspapers, postcards and works belonging to Atat\u00fcrk and Istanbul. It can be quite difficult to find a place in this library, which has large, spacious and quiet reading rooms with Bosphorus views. In fact, you can have a seating arrangement according to the numbers given to you at the entrance, but I would still suggest to call and ask about the availability before you go to the library. Before the pandemic, it was a 24\/7 library, but due to security reasons, no new guests are accepted between 00.00-06.00, so be quick.<\/p>\n

In addition to historical books for more than 100 years, you can encounter many works in the fields of medicine, chemistry and botany. Because many sources in Istanbul have been brought together in this library. You can also find digital copies of manuscripts in this library. The library, adorned with historical textures, was formed by the meeting of two madrasahs at one point. It takes its name from the foundation laid at the same time as the S\u00fcleymaniye Complex, which was established in 1557 during the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent. You can also find works made with arts such as calligraphy and illumination, befitting such an old history.<\/p>\n

The fact that this library is the meeting point of the works written by women in Turkey and the works written about women is of different importance. At the same time, this library is very rich in content. Over 12.000 books find their place in this library.<\/p>\n

For such a comfortable library, you need to go in advance, especially on weekends. In addition, you have to specify it in the card system when you go out or leave for a long time in this library, where you can enter and exit with the card system. In this way, everyone can benefit from the library. This library, which is on the metrobus route for transportation, is next to the Panorama 1453 Museum.<\/p>\n
