How Can You Have a Rich Mind? Ask Yourself These 3 Questions

Malcolm X discovered the power of books during his years in prison. He was physically imprisoned within the walls of the prison, but his mind was free. He spent most of his six and a half years in prison, reading books day and night. In Malcolm X’s autobiography he writes:
“Night guards would walk through each room at one-hour intervals. Every time I heard the approaching footsteps, I’d lie on the bed and pretend to be asleep. As soon as the guard passed, I’d go back to the floor area where that flash of light had fallen from the bed. So I could read for another 58 minutes until the guard came back. It’s three o’clock every morning. “It went on until or until four. Three or four hours of sleep a night was enough for me. I usually slept less than that in years spent on the streets.”
Here we can understand the power of a rich mind. No matter how isolated you are, your mind will never be alone. It will be rich in knowledge and ideas. She will never feel bored or lonely. Think of it this way; knowledge is the main source of the mind. A mind full of knowledge is rich, a mind without knowledge is poor. Have you heard people say, “It takes money to make money”? The thing is, when you have money, you can spend it on investments to get more. After a point, your wealth grows so much that it becomes almost impossible to lose it completely. The same goes for your mind. When you have a rich mind, you are constantly getting rich.

How much do you enrich your mind every day?

We don’t need to sleep for 4 hours like Malcolm did and spend the rest of our waking hours reading to create a rich mind. The truth is, you only need to spend an hour a day developing your mind. Listen to the Munger Technique inspired by Charlie Munger. Munger believes that if you dedicate the best hour of the day to cultivating your mind, you will improve your life on every level.
Developing a rich mind is the most important thing you can do. But you can take this one step further. If you’re stuck somewhere in life, lost your job, failed at your job, you name it; Spend at least 4 hours a day enriching your mind.
Successful author Dairus Foroux describes his method for enriching his mind: “I was going through a difficult time in 2015. My grandmother passed away, my relationship ended, and my career was going nowhere. I decided to step back and just focus on improving my mind. I finally quit my job and started living every day. I’ve spent reading books, taking classes, taking notes, you name it. I thought of enriching my mind as a full-time job. I went back to my parents and spent 8-10 hours a day developing my mind. It took almost a year before I started thinking about making a living again. “

What should you do for a richer mind?

Read books; This is very clear. If you want to learn about a subject, buy the best books and start reading.
Attend courses; Books are great for ideas but often lack practice. Programming, marketing, creating websites etc. If you want to learn skills such as
Listen to audiobooks or podcasts; You can continue to learn even while running or driving.
Watch interviews or documentaries; Sometimes you don’t want to study or take a course, but you still want to keep learning. That’s why you can watch interviews on YouTube. You will enjoy watching documentaries about inspiring people.
Keep a diary; Writing down what you’ve learned in your own words can help you remember better.
Share your knowledge; When you talk to others about your ideas and information, you not only help but enrich your own mind.
It’s pretty simple. We all know what it takes to enrich our minds. The biggest problem we face is that it is difficult. Spending hours stalking the lives of celebrities, ex-classmates, and lovers on Instagram feels easier. Isn’t it weird? But we all do.
But this is a waste of time. What effect do these activities have on your mind? If you’re lucky, it’s zero. If you look at others and compare yourself to them, you get jealous and start to feel bad about yourself. Put an end to this nonsense.

So what does a rich mind look like?

Answer a few questions first:
– Do you often feel bored?
– Do you often feel restless?
– Do you feel the urge to stalk other people’s lives?
If your answer is no, no, no, you have a rich mind. This is the sign you should look for within yourself, and everyone has weak moments. It has also happened to the richest minds in history.
The Stoic philosopher Seneca wrote this in one of his letters: “The goal of Stoicism is not to be perfect. Do you intend to live by Stoic principles? That’s what matters.”

When you enrich your mind, you will never be bored or lonely. Your mind will feel a constant thirst for more information, which will keep you active forever.
