Oscar Wilde was born in Ireland in 1854. Oscar Wilde, one of the greatest writers of his time, rose to fame with his only novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray. It is a novel that created great controversy in its time, was subjected to extremely harsh criticism, and was even shown as evidence against it while on trial. The value of the novel was understood over time, and it was understood that Oscar Wilde wrote an important work in which he cynically criticizes the rigid moralistic attitude of his time.

3) “The advantage of the emotions is that they lead us astray; The advantage of science is that it is not emotional.”

4) “Being a good person means being in harmony with oneself.”

5) “Goodwill is nothing more than a check that people write to a bank account where they don’t deposit money.”

6) “One should not do anything that one cannot explain at the dinner table.”

7) “If you don’t talk about an event, it means it didn’t happen. As Harry said, it’s the utterance of events that gives reality to situations, straight up.”

8) “As easily a person who can control himself can invent a pleasure, he can as easily relieve his pain.”

9) “Human life was too short to bear the weight of the mistakes made by others. Everyone was living their own life and paying the bill for living. The sad part was that one had to pay a lot for one mistake.”

10) “If a stone cracks in life, only one supreme experience can pass through us; The secret of life is to reproduce this experience as much as possible.”

11) “Knowing is the end of everything. The attraction is not knowing. The mist adds a wonderful beauty to everything.”

12) “Things one is 100% sure of are never true. That is the disaster of faith and the lesson that romance teaches.”

13) “We are always good people when we are happy, but we may not be happy when we are good people.”
